What is Phytotherapy?

           

Phytos; plant, therapeuein; treatment. In other words, it means treatment with plants. French physician Henri Leclerc (1870-1955) used the word phytotherapy for the first time. Traditionally, for centuries, people have used plants to prevent diseases and to contribute to the treatment of diseases. In modern practice, raw plants or standardized forms of syrups, tablets, capsules and tinctures containing their active parts are used to prevent disease and support treatment.


The process by which plants come to be used for healing purposes:

Trial and error

By observing animal behavior

It was by trial and error.
